The Moreschi line revives the spirit of the master craftsmen of Castelfidardo: a legacy of passion and skill, handed down from father to son since the early 1900s and now proudly carried on by the fourth generation.

In 1910, Giuseppe Moreschi, then eighteen years old, began his accordion manufacturing business, following in the footsteps of the already flourishing manufacturers in Castelfidardo and neighbouring towns. The workshop was opened in his home in Via Cesare Battisti. He soon established himself as a skilled craftsman and his accordions stood out for their quality and excellent workmanship, immediately appreciated in Italy and abroad.

In the early 1940s, the workshop moved to the factory in Via IV Novembre, also in Castelfidardo. In some respects, the company took on the characteristics of a true industrial business. The predominant phase remained that of carpentry, expanding the possibility of producing various models of accordions in-house, including special and custom-made ones.

Over time, the contribution of Giuseppe’s three sons became increasingly important, especially in establishing the company on the international market and, in particular, in the United States of America.

The Moreschi & Figli company was ranked third in the industrial landscape of Castelfidardo in terms of number of employees (150), behind only Soprani. The business enjoyed positive growth for more than two decades.

In the 1960s, the third generation of Moreschis, Toni and Franco, Giuseppe’s grandsons, began working in the company. This marked the beginning of the era of the first electronic accordions, for which various prototypes were produced after thousands of technical tests to fine-tune the instrument with “modern” sounds.

The 1970s marked the end, or almost the end, of the sector. The entire local economy went into crisis and several companies decided to diversify and/or downsize their production, including Moreschi.

In 1978, Mario Moreschi, Giuseppe’s youngest grandson, decided to resume the production and marketing of accordions, availing himself of the collaboration of several small local craftsmen, thus continuing the production of Moreschi accordions.

In 1995, Mario Moreschi and Giansandro Breccia founded Pasco Italia, allowing the adventure of the accordion, the most beautiful instrument in the world, to continue.

In 2011, Mario passed away, and his son Michele took his place in the company.

This is the fourth generation to continue the tradition of accordion craftsmanship.

Thanks to the craftsmanship of our artisans, each of our accordions offers an unmistakable sound and uncompromising quality.
